Yamatokan is a historic ryokan in Hakone Yumoto that preserves the essence of sukiya-style Japanese architecture. Since its founding, the inn has carefully upheld the spirit of Yamato—calligraphy, ikebana, and the tea ceremony.

The fine joinery of sukiya architecture and the tokonoma alcove decorations that change with each season—the spirit of ichi-go ichi-e pervades the entire inn. Set along the quiet teahouse lane of Hakone Yumoto, the inn exudes the feeling of a secluded retreat away from the bustle.
