Bicarbonate springs are sometimes called 'skin-beautifying waters' — leaving skin soft and smooth after bathing. Clear, odorless, and served directly from the source.
Rikyu (tea-house indoor bath), Wabi (semi-outdoor), Jaku (open-air outdoor) — the same water in three very different vessels.
After the irori dinner, move between the three baths as the mood takes you. That's the Rikyuan evening.
