Twelve tatami rooms named for the moon's phases — New Moon, Crescent, Half Moon, Full Moon, and more. 6–10 mats, with in-room or private kaiseki dining.
SPECIAL
MOCHIZUKI · 2 rooms
The '望月' (full moon) suite — 10-mat room with a sitting alcove. Priority booking for the Full Moon outdoor bath. Up to 6 guests.
TSUKINO-MA · ROOMS
Six to ten tatami mats, twelve rooms — each decorated to echo its moon-phase name.
Cozy rooms for solo travelers or couples. 5 rooms total, each named after a moon phase.
Standard rooms for families and small groups. 5 rooms total. Named for half-moon and crescent phases.
The premium 'Full Moon' suite — two-room layout, up to 6 guests, with priority bath booking. 2 rooms total.
All guests enjoy kaiseki in their room or a private dining area — no rush, no dining hall.
TSUKI-NIWA · MOON GARDEN
Tsukinoya's inner garden — the 'Moon Garden' — holds the outdoor bath, stone lanterns, and paper lanterns lit at dusk.
Stone-paved courtyard lit by paper lanterns at night. Moon-gazing when clear; a different quiet on cloudy evenings.
The outdoor bath opens to the sky — designed for moon-watching. Bathing here at night is Tsukinoya's signature.
As dusk falls, paper lanterns are lit throughout the inn. The evening at Tsukinoya begins with this light.
